While studying Media and Communications (specialising in Music Industries) at Birmingham City University, I have embarked on a number of placements within journalism, including a weeks placement at Kerrang Magazine, contributing writer at Highlight and Notion Magazine. What this has brought are transferable skills when it comes to pursuing a career in the field of journalism, particularly music, which is the area of media that is of interest.

Hardworking, reliable and creativity are just a few key skills that I possess.

KEY SKILLS

Ideas.
Coming up with new, innovative ideas for various publications allowed for me to be as open with feature ideas that would gain some interest with readers. I am always inspired by creative minds which definitely comes to play in my creative process. These include magazine editors, journalists, musicians and artists.

Computer Skills.
Brief knowledge in using HTML/CSS and installing a WordPress Theme. Also including the use of Excel, InDesign, Photoshop and Coda.

Communication.
I have strong communication skills both verbally and written. When given positive feedback or criticism, I am able to take that on board in which progressing onwards allows me to gain further knowledge in whatever I do.

Social Networking.
Confident in using sites such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WordPress and Tumblr for promotion and personal interest.

Team Work.
Previous jobs/responsibilities have enabled me to work effectively as part of a team.

Time management.
I am able to manage my time effectively in order to complete set tasks. I have a keen eye for organisation and presentation, both professionally and personally.
